JAAP VAN LAGEN

 

Jaap was born and raised on a farm in a small village in the middle of Holland. From his youngest days he was interested in speed. It al started with riding little motorbikes around his parents farm, soon followed by motocross. When Jaap discovered indoor karting he knew what he wanted to do in life.

After winning a racing competition organised by one of the largest radio stations in Holland, his career got a lift off. Jaap raced with success in the competitive Citroen Saxo Cup and finished second in the championship. 
He climbed up on the racing ladder with successes in Formule Ford, Formule Volkwagen (champion), Formula Renault 3,5, European Renault Megane Trophy (champion) and in WTCC as a works driver for Lada.  In 2007 Jaap switched to touring cars and GT car and made his debut in the Porsche Supercup. “From the first moment on, there was a click between the 911 GT3 and me. It felt like coming home."

Jaap quickly transforms into one of the best drivers in the Porsche Supercup. In 2008 Jaap finishes sixth in the final standings, including a victory in Turkey. After racing as a factorydriver for Lada he returns to the Porsche Supercup in 2010. Even though he misses the first two races Jaap manages to finish third in the championship. His definitive break through as a Porsche specialist.

His speed is also recognised by Prospeed Competition for the famous Le Mans 24u. The works supported squad from Belgian choose Jaap van Lagen to complete the drivers line up for the 2011 Le Mans 24U. From 2011 on Jaap collects excellent results in the German Porsche Carrera Cup. The very dominant drive at the Red Bull Ring (Austria) is the high of the season. Jaap seals the pole position, wins the race with a big margin and also sets the fastest lap of the race. In 2013 he secures wins at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife and Zandvoort. In 2014 he finesed 2nd in the ADAC GT-Masters with the very strong Porsche 911 GT3-R.
